hi folks, hope some one can help. i am running Vista home premium.w/IE 7. the problem is with the IE 7. it opens a new window ,even when i am not using IE 7 .it opens on top of whatever page i am viewing. this happens when i either use my back button or lately, just close a window. the window is a minimzed view of the desktop. within this window there are two tabs, opening (loading) back and forth. one is a google tab, the other is an "aout blank" tab. I have reset all the defaults. re-optimized the IE 7, this still has not gotten rid if the problem. it is a problem because when this window opens ,it freezes the browser. and the tabs keep increasing as you look at it. have to open task manager, and start clicking. they re-open as fast as you can close(kinda lika a porn site). it does not seem to be a virus or anything, scans are clean. have bee nto MSN supposrt , vista forums, nothing is working. I use MSN premium. and it it"s not in that program, it happens when IE isn't even open???? can't seem to find out what setting is not right??

It is acting very much like a malware infection. I suggest asking for help in the Internet Explorer newsgroups as this forum is for the discussion of Windows Live One Care only - http://www.microsoft.com/communities/newsgroups/list/en-us/default.aspx?dg=microsoft.public.internetexplorer.general&cat=en_us_28cca3eb-7037-4d4f-bde1-d8efee1f1420&lang=en&cr=usThursday, June 26, 2008 11:42 PMModerator

I agree with Jim. It is probally a malware infection. I think asking for help in the Internet Explorer newsgroups is a good idea. But if it is a malware infection then I would recommened trying the free trial of Windows Live OneCare.
Here is a link to the download: http://iorigin.onecare.live.com/cli/2.5.2900.03/SetupOneCare.exe

I agree that it is a malwareware, problem is ,it has evaded every scan so far. spybot, adaware, Live One care, Mazersky, trend, spysweeper, McAffee. whatever it is it is annoying as ***.Thursday, July 3, 2008 2:06 PM
