Installation third party components RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello experts,

We have an application that we would like to test it in HPC environment. In order to run our application, third party components should be installed in the PC that we run it.

In case of HPC, these third parties components should be installed also in computing nodes or only in head node?

    Thank you in advance

  • Dear Chris,

If the compute nodes do not all have access to some shared point of storage (network share, for example) that has the application, then you will need to ensure that there is a copy of the application on each of the compute nodes (perhaps not all of them, only the ones you want to run this particular application on).

As a stragey for testing - might I suggest copying the necessary application components to only one or two compute nodes and scheduling some test jobs against them.  Then once you have that tuned and set up the way you want, you can create a template to configure the remaining nodes automatically.

Please post more information if you are still having troubles.
