Windows 7 Build 7600 "Not Genuine" RRS feed

  • Question

  • I'm having a similar problem to many people in this forum. I bought my Toshiba laptop from Best Buy in October 2009, just after Windows 7 was released. About a month ago a message appeared in the bottom corner of my screen "Windows 7 Build 7600 This copy of windows is not genuine". It won't go away, and I've started getting pop-up messages telling me my version of Windows in not genuine. I followed a link on one of these messages and it took me to the Microsoft website, telling me I needed to purchase Windows 7. Obviously I've already purchased the OS with the computer in 2009; how do I get these messages to stop? It says I only have 6 days to fix this. Here's my code:

  • File Scan Data-->

    File Mismatch: C:\windows\system32\sppwinob.dll[6.1.7600.16385], Hr = 0x80092003

    The file sppwinob.dll has been tampered with or corrupted. Try the following steps.

    SFC/system restore

    type cmd in the search box of the start menu, right click on the icon that appears and type sfc /scannow without the qoutes and press enter, allow SFC to run, reboot when directed. If you get any error messages write them down exactly as they appear. After rebooting go to www.microsoft.com/genuine and attempt to validate.

    If that does not work then type system restore in the search box, click on the resulting program and follow the wizards prompts to restore to a previous point prior to the non-genuine status.

    If that does not work then start a no cost wga tech support incident at the following link http://support.microsoft.com/gp/contactwga
