  • Hi KC,

    When SharedView doesn't show up in the control panel, are you able to start SharedView and use it?

    You can try reinstalling SharedView from www.sharedview.com, which will remove your existing version and install a new version.  You can then try going to your control panel to uninstall the new version.

    Thanks.

  • Hi –KC-,

    You can uninstall SharedView program by going to “Control Panel” -> “Add or Remove Programs” -> “Microsoft SharedView (Beta)” and choose Remove.

    On the other hand, can you please share your SharedView experience with us.  What do you like about SharedView and what area of improvements would you recommend for future release?

    Thank you for using SharedView.

  • My apologies for not being specific enough - so here goes:

    I can not removed .; Uninstall SHAREDVIEW
    "  by
    ->
    going to “Control Panel”
    ->“Add or Remove Programs”
    -> “Microsoft SharedView (Beta)” and
    -> choose Remove.

    Because it  is not shown there
     in the CTRL Panel REMOVE PROGRAMS

                     So , please - if anyone knows

                    how to remove it manually, svp?

          { and I Ðon't mean just Ðelete the Ðirectly }

    including all files it would have written everywhere else?
      and like - what Files Names in Which Ðirectories?

    Microsoft people  - I am sure, know this - but I do not.

                  Hence    _ HELP PLEASE?

    Thanks in advance once again.

  • Hi KC,

    Here is another way to uninstall SharedView.

    1) If you do not have this on your desktop already, download the installer from http://get.live.com/betas/sharedview_betas

    2) Choose Start > Run > type "cmd" and choose OK

    3) In the cmd window, type "cd %userprofile%\desktop"

    3) then type "msiexec /uninstall SharedView.msi /quiet"

    What operating system are you using?  Thanks.

  • Hi -KC-,

    Can you please provide more information to help us investigate the issue?

    Which Windows OS are you using? What is the system type (32-bit or 64-bit) and what is the Language?

    To answer your question about SharedView installation.  SharedView install all its files under the following path:

    C:\Program Files\Microsoft SharedView (Beta)

    Thanks,

  • Thanks both

    My Operating System - should have said huh? -  is Windows XP Pro  - 32 bit

    So are Y'all  sayin'that

    SHARED'VIEW is only in 1 directory and
    that nothing is installed in the  / System32

    File folder or any other place????  REALLY?

    'cause upon installation of Most programs even if in Drive OTHER,
    usually the System32  folder DOES get Juiced  by the installation.

    ok then, Thanks. and CHEERS!

  • I am WIN XP Pro

    THANKS - but I got GLITCHED in the process:-

    The 2 / both - command lines were doing great  that is
    until the very end of reaction to the 2nd command line:
    Got a BOX with Blue part title  "Windows Installer"
    and in the box a Yellow Triangle with Exclamation mark
    and the text in the grey part of that box said the following:

    "The installation package" could not be opened. Verify
    that the package exists
    (it does - but that's not where i installed it form)
    and that you can access it, or
    contact the application vendor
    [which I have been doing right here - Grrrr... oh POOP! :-(  ]
    to verify that this is a valid Windows installer package."

    Well , - -    Back to y'all Kind and Helpful Folks - an suggestions?

    Thanks once again in advance.

    Yours,

  • Hi -KC-,

    Yes, all SharedView files are located in "C:\Program Files\Microsoft SharedView (Beta)" directory.

    At this moment, We are not able to reproduce the scenario in the lab.

    Please try re-install SharedView and let us know if it resolves the issue.

    Thanks,
