My Movie WHS add-in in limbo - uninstall failed RRS feed

  • Question

  • Now I've done it.  I was uninstalling the My Movie add-in and got an error msg that the uninstall failed.  My Movie still shows as an installed add-in, but all the My Movie components were removed from left-hand column in Windows Home Server Settings and My Movie is not shown as 'Available'.  How can I clean this mess up?  Would it be safe to use the Windows Installed App Utility (msicuu2.exe)?

WHS is installed on HP MediaSmart Ex485

  • There is a tool you can use to remove failed uninstalls from the list of installed add-ins: http://forum.wegotserved.com/index.php?autocom=downloads&showfile=98
As for any files left you simply delete them.

  • Thank you.  AddinCleanup.exe did the trick.  I guess my search techniques need a bit of tweaking.

  • Glad you got it solved.

If others have the same issue, a soution can also be found in our troubleshooting section:

But, what needs tweaking is WHS' way of handling installer return codes, not your techniques ;-)
