CRM 2013: Automatically set regarding on new activity RRS feed

  • Hello,

    I have a custom entity that has a custom activity entity that when I add new (+) button it opens the form but I have to fill out the Regarding lookup myself.

    In 2011 this was done automatically. Is there a way to regain this functionality?

  • Hi Matthew,

    We have faced the same issue in CRM 2013. Work around is as follows

    • Create a field of type lookup of Custom entity in activity and place it on the form. Whenever you click on Add new(+), CRM will automatically fill that value.
    • Write a business rule which will check and auto populate the value from new custom field to regarding field.

    The advantage of this approach, after we get the fix from Product team we can delete the new field created by us in the activity and the functionality will work with out affecting anything.
