Copy of Vista states it's not genuine

Question
-
My copy of Windows Vista, provided with my new Fujitsu-Siemens PC, is showing up as "not genuine" and requires me to run validation checks every time I switch the PC on or perform any updates. It passes the validation every time, but the output from the diagnostic states that it is an invalid license - diagnostic info is as follows...

Have you changed any hardware on your Fujitsu PC? (such as memory, etc)?
I'm curious if you may accidentally be mistakening Activation with Validation? What happens when you go to the start-menu (windows button) and right click on "Computer" and select Properties - then scroll to the bottom. Does it say its Activated?

Hi Phil,
Thanks for the reply.
No changes have been made to the hardware - it's still exactly the same as it was when it came out of its box.
System properties state "Windows is Activated" & shows a product ID starting "89572-OEM- etc"
Any suggestions to fix this problem would be welcomed, as it's driving me mad insisting that I validate windows every time I switch the machine on or try to install an update.
Thanks,
Gary.

Hi All,
I'm still having this problem, but for some reason this post says it's been answered, I'm hoping that adding this reply will cause it to become unanswered again!
I've applied all the latest patches & upgrades (which it does after going on-line ot validate itself) but it still shows as "This copy of windows is not genuine" in the bottom right of the screen and insists that windows needs ot be validated every time I want to check for & apply upgrades.
Any help would be appreciated as it is driving me mad!!
Thanks,
Gary.
