Add-In: using c# and wpf,I am a beginner,some good instructions?

Hello,

where could I place my question? I would like to create an add-in using c#. I would like my add-in to be connected to a host different to the visual studio and office so I cannot use the templates. I ve read a lot but I ve simply mixed-up everything in my mind. Where should I ask for a simple tutorial on how to make an add-in appear as an option on the menubar of a host?
