installation media: what decides whether workgroup or professional is installed?

Question

Hello
I installed from an installation media which reads like this:
en_dynamics_crm_4.0_enterprise_professional_workgroup_x86_dvd_x14-23908.iso
Now I figured this will cover it all. But where is it decided whether I get a workgroup or professional installation?
I do not remember that I could make a choice somewhere within the installation procedure and in the end it turned out to be a workgroup installation which I do not need or want because the new button to add new users just disappears then after the fifth user has been added. So what can I do now? Uninstall and re-install? Will that work cleanly?
How does a professional or enterprise installation media read?
Thanks
Andreas

All you need to do is to go to the Deployment Manager and add in the professional license key and it will upgrade you. There is no need to do a re-installation.
The license key is pre-pidded on the CRM media. You just need to go the text file in the folder. I can't recollect offhand which path it is in.

Hello,
OK, so I gave him my license key in deployment manager and it did change after all from workgroup to professional.
The button new, however, in Settings, Administration, Users, is still gone.
I did read here in this forum that once you set the registry key of
AutoGroupManagementOff and perhaps VerfyDomainName
in
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\MSCRM
to 1 the button "new" would reappear. But even after restarting the server it did not reappear.
Would s.o. have some other idea?
Thx
Andreas

Hi,
so I applied the UpdateRollup12 but this did not change anything either.
Still no button new, even though the license is accepted as a professional one.
Sincerely
Andreas

Andreas,
Actually if I am not mistaken the post you are referencing was originated by me several months ago as we were doing the same thing for a local client. Initially the New User button didn't appear but after some time it did.
Are you connecting from the server or from a client? Have you flushed the browser cache?
