Unusual svchost.exe application error - 0x041cf496 RRS feed

    OS: Windows XP SP2

    After couple of hours I logged in an error message is popping up which says "svchost.exe - Application Error. The instruction at 0x041cf496 referenced memory at 0x041cf496. The memory could not be written."

    If I click OK or Cancel the message goes away but the system will start to slow down and within couple of minutes the system will hang. Only a hard boot recovers it.

    I tried many solutions I found on internet, like re-registering some DLLs. Note: Automatic update were never enabled on my system.

    Please help me to resolve this problem.
