Remote connection from console RRS feed

  • Question

  • Is there a way to edit the port used to remote connect from the console to a client PC?

I currently have 3 pcs, all configured with a different rdesk port so I could access them from outside my network (port forwarding) and to simply move them away from the default 3389 (security).  I understand WHS is designed around simplicity and I'm also assuming that the WHS console is using 3389 to connect to the clients.

I could easily reset all the machines to 3389 and block wan traffic on that port.  I'm just worried about not having the alternate way of connecting to my pcs when I'm away from home (or at least only being able to connect to one machine)

  • I don't think or at least I have not seen a way to edited these ports through WHS Console. I am in the same boat as you. I have set all my clients PCs port back to default. But I leave 1 PC at 3390 for in case...
