Re-install My Home Server WP7 app RRS feed

  • Is there a way to clear the Zune cashe for downloaded products?  I had to uninstall the WP7 app for WHS2011, and now I can't re-install since Zune said it was already purchased.  Since this isn't a "released" app it does not show in the marketplace.

  • ok, that worked. but had to go through a bunch of hoops to get to the actual link (from the above given link). (sign into live account to see the home server download links to the left on the whs website then browse to the link and finally go through zune service to get the app.

    You'll need to reinstall it the same way you installed the original version
    and this is through the Connect web site. You'll need to email yourself the
    URL for the appropriate WP7 app and then install it on your device.

  • did not help here. trying to do the same thing. I get it through the link and Zune reports already purchased. the Buy button is greyed out and the only option I have is cancel.

    rebooted phone, rebooted PC. Started Zune software, clicked on link, zune picks it up and reports it's already purchased. Only option left is Cancel - Same thing. hope there is a solution

  • same.  I just uninstalled the app and there isn't a way to reinstall it since the Zune thinks you already own it.  Hope this is fixed soon, I guess I never should have uninstalled it =[

  • Good call. Emailing the link to yourself allows it to open the marketplace on the phone right to the app.   This is how they are going to allow betas and even corp apps in the marketplace after mango (apps hidden with a personal url), seems they enabled it for their own =]

    Thanks dude, that worked like a charm, come on guys, gotta make this app thing a little more seemless, I freaking love that I can do this with WHS, but goodness, can you make a little more difficult for us to use/reuse/tell everyone how to use! Thanks again TGD!!!

  • It's a beta. Once it's in the appropriate marketplace it should be much more seamless.
    I'm not on the WHS team, I just post a lot. :)
