  • Question

  • Hello,

My Windows 7 64 bits Professional Edition is considered as counterfeit since I install the update KB971033.

This version have been checked online withtout problem during the installation (in December 09 - from the .iso provided by MSDNAA). Win7 have been genuine for months...

Nevertheless, today, I undergo the "not genuine..." message. Also http://www.microsoft.com/genuine/ fails at validating my Win7.

Here is the MGAdiag report, hope it will help :

Your problem seems to be the above bold entries

Are you running Vistalizator to enable Language Packs?
If so, then uninstall the packs, and remove Vistalizator

Try this - it's worked for some, and not for others

Click on Start, then type in the search box
    CMD.EXE
wait for the search to find 'cmd.exe', then right-click on it, and select Run as Administrator.
    at the prompt, type
    SFC   /SCANNOW
    and hit the Enter key.
wait for the scan to complete, and then make a note of the final message but don't worry if it says that it can't fix everything - mine always does!

Reboot, and run MGADiag again, and post the results back here

I was wondering if there was a way to rebuild the COM Registration - which is what I assume has been broken here?

  • @Carl_OH : thank you for the link ! The only one I found on the french support website asked for my product key, which is detected as expired, so I can't contact them...

@Noel D Paton : thanks you too. I am not using Vistalizator. SFC /SCANNOW didn't find any integrity violation. The MGAdiag report seems to remain the same after this verification (HRoffline and Tampered File values didn't change).

I sent a mail to Microsoft support.

    Hello,

Thank you for contacting Microsoft Genuine Advantage.

    Key : *****-*****-*****-*****-*****

I understand you received this through MSDN AA, I would contact them directly with the information they provided you when you purchased the product. They may be able to provide you with a replacement.

**Otherwise you fall into the MSDN category of pirated products and have the below options to get genuine.

The product key comes back as an MSDN (Microsoft Developers Network) license key. This key type is not for re-sale, sharing or use for anything but software development. It has been leaked, stolen, or created not by Microsoft to pirate windows. They key shows it is blocked and no longer valid.

You can purchase genuine software for a discounted price by clicking on the "non genuine message" and following prompts to resolve now and buy now. Our software online is at a discounted price and includes a new valid product key and the discs come in the mail later on. You can also order this on the phone by calling 1-866-530-6599.

You can purchase a full version copy and re-install windows by going to a reputable reseller e.g. Best Buy, Office Depot or the Microsoft Store.

You also can re-install your previous version of Windows at your choice.
