Not able to enable user for OCS RRS feed

  • Question

  •

    Hey

I had a standard OCS installation up and running. Before I install it I was running Forest and Domain preparation and I was able to enable user for OCS.

Because of some test setup I had to reinstall the server, the wizard told me that the Domain and Forest was ok and I didn’t run the Forest and Domain preparation. I used same server name, same domain and so on and doing that installation the inst.

Now I can right click on a user and enable OSC on them. I have tried to run the preparation again but without luck.

I have tried to run the forest and Domain preparation after without luck.

I can login to the server with Office Communicator with the user that I enable on the old setup, but I can´t chance settings on them or enable new user.

    Thanks

    Lasse

  • If you look at the settings on the user object in the Communications tab are they grayed-out or are you saying that any changes don't save?  And what specific errors are you getting when attempting to re-run the AD preparation steps?

By re-using the same servername you may have something out of wack within the AD configuration if you didn't deactivate the pool and cleanup other remnants of OCS between installations.

Take a look at these articles for details on where to locate the AD configuration information and the proper uninstallation steps to see if you can figure out what may have been missed:
