onecare restore tool RRS feed

  • Question

  • I am now using windows 7. My onecare subscription has expired. When I try to start the onecare restore tool - it says my subscription has expired and will not run. I need to get to some old files.

  • That's odd. Did you upgrade Vista to Windows 7 with OneCare installed, perhaps? The restore tool does not require a subscription and should not be performing a subscription status check.

I guess that I'd check the system date and time first. If that's wrong, fix it and reboot. If the clock is correct, try reinstalling the restore tool.

If that doesn't work, the best I can suggest is opening an email support case to OneCare support.
