Remote Desktop to a userless computer

  Hi, I recently tried using the remote desktop feature of Live Mesh and though it was fantastic.
  
  I was wondering if it is possible to connect to a computer without physically interacting with it. I ask this because I would use this feature to access my home computer from my laptop when I am not home.
  
  Is there a way to have certain computers be able to connect using remote desktop while you don't have physical access to the computer you want to access?
  
  EDIT:
  Never mind, after I attempted to connect a third time I was able to connect without physical interaction.
