  • Question

  • When a Core Duo states a 1.6 GHz, is that the combined rate, two 800 MHz chips, or two 1.6 GHz chips? Is the Core 2 Duo four chips, each with the stated GHz rate or four chips equaling the stated GHz rate? I think i'm confusing u? am i?

  • It's not like that. It means that there are two processors sandwiched in a single core with a common power supply.

One single chip, two cores, two caches, and 1.6GHZ each core..... = core 2 duo 1.6ghz

I think a Core Do 1.6 GHz stands for 2 1.6 Ghz processor which is equal to 3.2 single core processor.... now core 2 duo is just an advanced version of dual core which has improved the performance of the dual core to a very extent....
