Ports blocked?

Question
-
How can I tell if my ISP is blocking ports or not? I followed the directions to set up remote access, forwarded ports 443 and 4125 and 80, set up a static IP and disabled DHCP. I can access the internet, but I can't access the mydomain.livenode.com from the Windows Home Server. I've tried https and http, but no go. I get green check marks on all the steps in "domain name details."
Also, what is the Web Site IP Address in the domain name details? Can I use that as well as the livenode.com address?
Any help would be appreciated!
Thanks,
Ben

I guess your router is not supported. If you have already forwarded your ports, I think the next thing to do is call your ISP or google your ISP regarding port blocking. Another thing to try, if you don't want to call them, is turn on your incoming router logs. Check and see the if the packet is arriving at your router.Thursday, April 26, 2007 1:15 PM

To test if your livenode address is working you should have some one you know try accessing it from their computer. That will tell you real quick if it is accessible.Thursday, April 26, 2007 5:48 AMModerator

Hi Entbark, you can always ask your ISP if they block port 80 and 443. Another way is turn on the router logs, and check if your ports are arriving at the router.
The address in the "domain name details" is your current IP address from your ISP. You don't have to use livenode.com address. You can take your curent IP address from your ISP and try to access. http://yourispipaddess or https://yourispaddress. Of course if you do it this way you will need to forward your ports manually.
If you have a dynamic IP address, you can use free services such as dyndns or no-ip.com
Another thing, on your console, under Router setup, did you click on "setup" If so make sure you have turn on UPnP on your router.

I did click setup, but it gave me an error message saying, "Your router does not support UPnP and cannot be configured automatically." Does this mean it will not work at all? Oh, and I did have to set up the port-forwarding manually.Thursday, April 26, 2007 6:21 AM

It does mean that nothing has been setup on your router and you will have to make the changes yourself.
Somebody in another post posted this link http://portforward.com/ which should help you in configuring your router.

When I logged into the router, I saw no option for UPnP. The router is USRobotics and it has a print server, but I don't remember the exact model number.
I just tried logging into the https://my_site.livenode.com from outside of the network, but I was not able to connect.
