I have an HP Pavilion DV5. I have had it for 3yrs now. The Vista key is valid and it came with the machine. I haven't installed any new hardware and it has not been recently worked on. Vista all of a sudden stated that it needs to be activated.
However it will not allow me to activate. I receive the error code 0xC004E003. Both the product & serial number is now missing from bios. I did upgrade my Divx player the other day but I don't see how this could cause Vista to now say it is not genuine.
Also, I receive an error which states serial number not found on start up.
