Any place to test my skills on 70-432 exam? RRS feed

  • Question

  • I'm currently preparing for the 70-432 exam: SQL Server maintenance and Implimentation. I've already got the self-paced training kit and I was wondering if there's an online site where I could test my skills, similar to sqlquiz.com but more specific to 70-432.

  • You only need to take test 70-448 if you also want to achieve the MCSA: SQL Server 2008 certification

If you feel that the MCTS certification that you wel get with exam 70-432 is sufficient for your needs then passing only this exam is fine and you will be certified on SQL 2008.

For SQL Server 2012 you can no longer be certified by passing one exam, the entry level certification will then require at least three exams. There is an upgrade path from MCSA: SQL 2008 to MCSA SQL 2012.

For now SQL 2008 is still very valid for many company's but at some point SQL 2012 will become the most used version and the certification requirments will also shift towards SQL 2012.

  • Hi,

You can have a look at measure-up, they are an official MS practice test provider:

  • Thank you.

But all these sites are paid sites, I'm looking for something free as I'm already paying for the exam itself.

  • You will not find any free practice tests, most of them need to be purchased.

Keep in mind that you can use 2nd shot until 31 May to get a free second chance on the exam if you fail it the first time:

  • Thanks for the tip, I'll try my best to take the exam this month.

Another question, if I pass this test will I be SQL Server 2008 Administrator certified personnel or do I need to pass yet another test?

  • Hi,

You will need to pass it before 31 July to get the MCTS certification. After that date the exam is still valid and it will count towards the MCSA: SQL Server 2008 certification. You also need to pass 70-448 for this MCSA certification.

I have copied the following info from the official exam info:

Credit Toward CertificationWhen you pass Exam 70-432:

Microsoft SQL Server 2008, Implementation and Maintenance, you complete the requirements for the following certification(s):

*Note that this MCTS certification will only be awarded until July 31, 2013.

Exam 70-432: Microsoft SQL Server 2008, Implementation and Maintenance: counts as credit toward the following certification(s):

*Note that this MCITP certification will only be awarded until July 31, 2013. After that date, exam 432 will continue to count towards the MCSA: SQL Server 2008 certification.

  • Thank you for your help.

I will start with SQL Server 2008 70-432 and then move on the the upgrade SQL Server 2012. Sounds like the right way to go.

Unless of course I have missed something.

  • That would be the right way to go, good luck with exam 70-432.
