Microsoft Office XP Professional with FrontPage:

The product key used to install Office has been blocked by Microsoft.

This is on a desktop that i bought approximately 2-3 years ago, that has not being used by anybody else, that just went to a repair place to change the ventilation system, and that I have never had to reinstall anything. It's a Compaq presario.

I went and tried the tool described in other posts and it showed this...

As you see it's an OEM product, so the office came from Compaq. If you guys are saying that compaq is putting in desktops an illegal version of Office, then well, you shouldn't do business with them(well, with HP-Compaq, now, it's really an old computer)

If you can help me with this it would be great, thanks in advance

  • Your MGA Diagnostic log shows your installed copy of Microsoft Outlook is indeed "genuine", but your installed copy of Microsoft Office XP Professional with FrontPage is "non-genuine" (LegitResult>114 - Blocked VLK 2).  A blocked Volume License Key is a license that once belonged to a company or business enterprise that purchased a Volume License for Microsoft Office.  Computer manufacturers, such as Compaq, do not install Volume Licensing....only OEM licensing.

If you wish to use Micosoft Office, you'll need to uninstall your non-genuine version of Microsoft Office XP Professional with FrontPage, then purchase a genuine version of Microsoft Office and install it.
