Question

Hi,
I have a quetion regarding the system reuqirements for the "Hardware requirements for a point-of-sale computer" which can be red in the "System Requirements Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012" published Mars 2012.
Minimum: Intel/AMD compatible 1.4 GHz processor
Recommended: Intel/AMD compatible 2 GHz processorBut does this mean Intel ATOM, Intel Pentium, Intel Celeron or even Intel Core i3/i5 CPU's??
It only says the CPU clock speed not the actual type of Intel CPU.

Hi Richard,
Even though your question is general question, but you would have been better off in the same Microsoft forums, but in Dynamics AX section. This part of the forums is dedicated to Dynamics CRM.
I am not expert on Hardware, but general view point is you would never use Intel Pentium and Intel Celeron on servers having high end applications such as Dynamics AX 2012. Intel atom is mobile processor so it is out of the question.
You can use Intel Core i5, but I recommend Intel Quad Core i7.
You should always use processors specifically for Servers and not doe desktops. So if you really want a good server go for Server Processors like Intel Xeon Processor E7 Family.
Please visit the page: http://www.intel.com.au/content/www/au/en/processors/xeon/xeon-processor-e7-family.html
I hope this helps. If my response answered your question, please mark the response as an answer and also vote as helpful.
