When is Sync Framework 4.0 going Live? RRS feed

  • Question

  • We have an application we're developing as a POC for a large client which would be a perfect candidate for use with Sync framework 4.0, but we dont want to bet on it until we know dates since we plan for a production go live in Feb 2011.

Will the sync framework 4.0 be out of CTP by then?

  • We dont have any release dates announced yet but  Ican say that Feb 2011 RTM is very unlikely. Is it because of lack of GoLive license from us?

I am a bit surprised about this statement because in an earlier reply to a similar question you have stated

the current SyncFx v3 is targetting 1Q 2011

Based on this early statement we have made our decision for SyncFX and have put a lot of efforts into it allready. Until now we expected to be able to deploy SyncFX 3/4 by the end of Q1 2011.

  • Yes absolutely true, what M.Bi is saying. The goal was 1Q 2011 for release.

We are planning to implement sync into our iPhone app, it's still the last test, but the data is already the data that will be synced later, what was also planned for 1Q of 2011, and now?

  • Point noted. The only reason I said Feb 2011 is unlikely because for a customer to go live in Feb the we have to go live before that which would mean a Late Jan or early Feb release. We all know that is quite unlikely.
