Exam 70-536

Question
-
I am a newbie to this forum and have some basic doubts regarding certification exams, i would really appreciate your guidance regarding the same.
First of all I want to know, is it not possible to take 70-562 exam straight away without passing 70-536?
2. How many attempts one can make once he/she gets registered for an exam like 70-536?
3. I have VS 2008 and .Net Framework 3.5 installed in my system. And if its required to clear 70-536 to be able to take any other MCTS cert exams then, is it possible for me to do my preparation without having to change back to VS 2005 & .Net Framework 2.0?
Thanks in advance

1. It possible. But you not get certification without passing 70-536
2. Now one registration is one attempt. If you don't pass exam then you register on exam again
3. It's enough

Just as addition to the good answer you got already:
You should prepare with Visual Studio 2008 and .Net Framework 3.5. All exams (70-536 and 70-562) are targeting to that version. But be carefull: There are 2 Self-Paced Training Kit Books available for the 70-536. You need the newer Second Edition! The older one (first edition) is targeting VS 2005. (I think the first edition appeared (*) in 2006 and the second edition in 2008.)
(*) I have no idea, if "appeared" is the correct word. It is a 1:1 translation from german which could be wrong and hard to understand. Ment is the date, a book is printed.
With kind regards,
Konrad

Thanks a lot both of you for clearing my doubts.
One more doubt!..Please do clarify this also if possible..
If i clear 70-562 first i know from you that i'll not get certification. But will they provide any other type of certificate that can be shown with my profile? Does 70-562 alone carry any weightage?

You should get access to the MCP site where you have your transcript which will show the 70-562 exam and the logo builder should give you access to the MCP logo (For your business card and/or email signature).
With kind regards,
Konrad
