internet explorer 8 ,toolbar blackout

recently installed internet explorer 8,like it ,however my toolbars are blackout,my buttons are still there and work,but I only see the icons,no labels,when i place my cursor over the button it will highlight the whole button but only then,this is anoying,and efects the overall performance of ie8! anyone else have this problem,better yet anyone no how to fix it and what causes it?
