  • Hello,

    How are you opening this file i.e. DataSet.ReadXml, if so and there is a schema file did you try reading it via ReadXmlSchema methof of the DataSet or another method is being used to read the file ?

  • Is the dates you are importing UK or USA?  I created a data table and then exported the datatable as an XML file and found the XML contained the following line

           <xs:element name="Date" type="xs:dateTime" minOccurs="0" />

    There wasn't a format value.  The code I used is shown below

            Dim ds As New DataSet
            Dim dt As New DataTable
            Dim DR As DataRow
            dt.Columns.Add(New DataColumn("Date", GetType(DateTime)))
            ds.Tables.Add(dt)
            DR = dt.NewRow
            DR("Date") = Date.Now()
            ds.WriteXml("C:\temp\test.xml", XmlWriteMode.WriteSchema)

  • I think problem comes from ArcMap software because i use a common function of this software.

    I don't know exactly what uses internaly the software to import csv file.

    So I've asked at the Esri forum if is it normal to get this error.

  • I don't think we are going to be able to help you in this forum since ArcMap does not implement the Visual Basic .NET programming language.

    We use ESRI but not with .NET yet I have seen in the past that it appears that ESRI is .NET friendly
