Referring to this post - My Forums Link Inoperative Since June 10 Maintanance - which has been marked as "answered" even though
I believe they missed the point of the issue.
This is definitely NOT fixed.
The key to this issue is when the forums site can't detect that you're logged in to Passport. Navigating to
My Forums Threads ALWAYS fails until I've logged in using Passport on another MSDN property, such as a
specific forum, or MSDN portal page. Until I'm considered logged in to MSDN, that link will fail.
This is quite obviously a bug to me. The site is apparently detecting "I don't know who you are, so therefore I can't show you your forums". A completely understandable reaction to my actions... but please take it one step further as other
Microsoft properties do (Connect, Support) and if this condition is detected - ask me to log in, then direct me to the page I was originally navigating to.
The "workaround" suggested in the referenced thread obviously works, but I'm looking for reasonable Web 1.0 behaviour here... I think.
