Asked by:
How do I remove IE9?

Question
-
If I remove IE9, will it rollback to IE8? This browser is causing too many problems.
- The screen freezes too often.
- When I download files, the status download bar locks on "completed" downloads and I have to reboot my computer because I can't remove the message.
- These status messages are just annoying. I was at a customer yesterday and I watched the browser reboot on my client's computer about 3-4 times as we tried to install dynamics crm. I thought It was just me and my computer but even my customers are having problems. An installation that should of taken 15 minutes took up an 1.5 hours.
IE9 has to go.

How much memory these the addons use? Do they affect performance if installed but disabled?

Hi Partner,
Thank you for your post. This is Carol.
According to your description, I understand that internet explorer 9 is slow and you want to downgrade to IE8. If there has any misunderstanding, please feel free to let me know.
Based on my experience, they are various possible causes of the issue. And we can downgrade IE 9 to IE 8 by perform the following steps:
==================
Step:
1. Download IE 8 first.
http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/internet-explorer/downloads/ie-8
2. Click start button, and then select add or remove programs.
3. Select Add/Remove Windows components, and then uncheck internet explorer.
Uninstall IE 9 via Add/Remove Windows Features in Add/Remove programs.
4. Restart the computer and then reinstall IE 8.
If we want to keep IE 9, we can try to reset IE:
-----------------------------------------
1. Close any Internet Explorer or Windows Explorer windows that are currently open.
2. Open IE by click the Star button, and then click IE.
3. Click the tools button, and then click Inter Options.
4. Click the advanced tab, and then click Reset.
5. Select the delete personal settings check box.
6. In the reset internet explorer settings dialog box, click Reset.
7. When Internet Explorer finishes applying default settings, click Close, and then click OK.
8. Close Internet Explorer. Your changes will take effect the next time you open Internet Explorer.
If there are any updates about this issue, please feel free to let me know and I will be glad to follow up with you.
Best regards,
Carol Qu
