How do I search system views? RRS feed

  • I want to search on CRM within my views. Currently regardless of the view I have open when I search it defaults to all active contacts.

    Is this a fault on my system? I thought I'd been able in the past to search within 'Inactive Contacts' and 'My Active Contacts' without other results being included?

  • Hi,

    The Quick Search (Entity Grid Search Text Box) will be always performed on the Quick Find Entity view, either you can use Advance Find to perform search with in the Personal Views or other system view or you can use View Filter to search via a condition instead of opening the Advance Find.

  • That's the built in behaviour, But if you use advance find you can search on anything, active, deactive, just your contacts etc.

  • Can someone explain to me why typing in the search box on a System/User view searches all active contacts in the sytem rather than applying the filter in the context of the selected view. This doesn't make sense to me and isn't intuitive to our business users. I don't understand why it would be built in behaviour. Is it because it was just developed that way without thinking about usability or is there a good reason for designing it this way?
