Community Contribution award causing problems in the forums RRS feed

  • Question

  • The Community Contributor award was announced on the 10th of November 2010.

Since then I have noticed an increasing number of people who had previously been content with a normal personal sig adding to their sig a line or so asking people to mark (or propose) their post. The clever ones phrase this as propose/mark any post that answers the question but the effect is the same.

In other words because the rules for qualification for the Community Contributor award are unclear, people seem to be assuming that increasing their scores (and in particular the number (%?) of replies marked as answers) will make them eligible for it.

I don't have a solution other than more clarity in both the terms of the award and who was granted it so far. That might at least make less people join the present bandwaggon which I am finding difficult to stop in the forums I moderate.
