CRM 4.0 - When Adding an Account, Notes do not save if Duplicate Account is Detected RRS feed

  • Question

  • One of my users pointed out that if, when creating a new account, duplicate detection catches a similar account name and she chooses to save the new account anyway, any notes records that she added to the new account disappear.  If a unique account name is entered and duplicate detection does not find any similar account names, the notes record saves properly.  Has anyone experienced this behavior? Thanks in advance!

  • Is the account created from a lead?

  • No.. Just created by clicking the new button on the accounts screen.

  • Chances are the user is selecting an incorrect option.  If this issue is resolved, please mark as answered.

  • There's a hotfix for this: http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx/kb/958601/
It's included in UR4, but you need to add a registry key on the CRM server as well. See the KB above for more info.
