Activation Issues

Question
-
I have recently bought Microsoft Onecare from a retail store in New Zealand. I had no problems installing the software on to my laptop but I have had several problems when trying to activate the software. Each time I try and activate the software I get the pay using credit card to subscribe screen .
I have tried using the email help support but have also had errors with that.Wednesday, January 23, 2008 7:54 AM

Let me see if something has changed. In the meantime, try this:
Open IE.
Go to http://onecare.live.com/activate
It should redirect to http://onecare.live.com/standard/en-us/purchase/token.htm?redir=true
(May be different if you are not in the US)
Proceed with activating your retail key after logging in with a LiveID.
Once complete, go to http://billing.microsoft.com and sign in with the same LiveID. Confirm that the susbcription is shown.
Open OneCare, click subscribe/activate.
Log in with your LiveID, which should then see the subscription and activate your copy.

When you activate OneCare, the first thing you are asked is to sign in with your LiveID (or create one if you don't already have a LiveID). Then you should be presented with a screen to purchase or activate with a PIN, Token, or retail key. I don't recall what the screen calls it, but these three terms mean the same thing. When you select that option, you have a place to enter the key.
Is this not what you are seeing?
What errors are you encountering in accessing support?

I am having the same problem. I bought OneCare and let the "trial" last for a month or so and now I am trying to get the year that was said to be built into the cost of the software. However, when I go to activate it keeps directing me to a screen that requires a credit card to be entered. So how do you activate the year long subcription? I do not see any screen or way to enter in a PIN/Retail Key.Wednesday, January 23, 2008 2:00 PM

I don't know what 2002 is, either. You have now activated via the web link, yes? And you can see that you have an active subscription when you sign in at http://billing.microsoft.com?
Please email me at sboots@mvps.org and use a subject of "OneCare NZ Activation" and in the message body paste this URL - http://forums.microsoft.com/WindowsOneCare/ShowPost.aspx?PostID=2726929&SiteID=2
