CRM 2011: Ribbon Button enabled rule called twice when the button is clicked

  I have a custom button in the ribbon and I have setup a custom JavaScript enable rule.  If I put an alert in that JavaScript, it is always called twice.

  Any idea why the ribbon would execute the call twice?  I cannot think of anything, maybe a save or something submits reloads the form.  But it seems as if the ribbon just calls it twice.  Anyone seen something like that before?
