Problems with the connector and connector site on RC build of Windows Home 2011 RRS feed

  • Question

  • Ok I a having issues with my new home server build. I can not access the connect site on the server "http://localhost/Connect" or https://localhost/Connect. This is local on the server. same thing happens if I user "servername" in place of the localhost from a remote computer. The servers website comes up and I can access shares and remote desktop without any issues. This can be done remotely and on the local host. The server shares work and I can access the shares from all the computers in the house. So it is just the connect site. When I try to connect to the non SSL I get a can not be found. If I connect to the SSL I get a error

Let me know if there is anything else I can provide. (Firewall on server and clients are turned off)

Now for the other part of my issue. I can not manually install the connector on any computers so far. I went to the location on the server where the connect site points to and tried to install from there. I get a error in the install.

Product:  Connector -- Error 1722. There is a problem with this Windows Installer package. A program run as part of the setup did not finish as expected. Contact your support personnel or package vendor.  Action InstallBackupDriver, location: C:\Program Files\Windows Server\Bin\BackupDriverInstaller.exe, command: -i

This has happened on two different computers, both running windows 7 64bit.
