Can I do an "Alert Me" on the Announcements section?

  I can get alerts when certain threads get updated. Can I get the same functionality whenever the Announcements section at the top of a forum is updated? The Live Mesh forum put out a message at the start of the weekend that was basically "Don't do anything with the software until we issue a fix because there's a bad, bad problem".
  
  It's great that they put that out, but you had to be checking the forums to see it. Meanwhile, I got notified of about a dozen updates to threads in the forum over the weekend. But that "dire consequences" message should have gotten pushed out, too, I think. 
  
  So is there a way to get a notice whenever an Announcement is added or modified? If not, there should be...
