Windows Home Server installation problem RRS feed

  • Question

  • During the WHS installation I get the following error:

    "The file usbohci.sys is corrupt"

Does anyone have any suggestions?  I can successfully install Windows XP on this machine and it works fine.  I found articles that it may be related to the media, so I tried the 120 trial media as well as the MSDN download.

I also found suggestions to turn off usb and turn back on after the install....This is not possible since the machine only has USB connections for the keyboard and mouse.

    My hardware is:
    Dell GX280
    80GB harddrive
    1gb memory

Thanks for any help you can provide.

  • If you're installing off of a DVD you burned from a .iso file, you can try burning another DVD. You can also try using a different DVD drive. To test the download, you can also try installing Windows Home Server in a virtual machine.
I'm not on the WHS team, I just post a lot. :)
