Backup files in Windows Vista RRS feed

    Hi,
    I am using Windows Vista Home Premium (6.0, Build 6001).
    Although this is a personal laptop but i have some critical data of which i want backup.
    I have 2 partitions on my Hard Disk,
    C Drive: 220 GB
    D Drive: 10 GB

    My problem is, when i take backup of data on my external Hard Disk, the backup process crashes in between. The reason for that is my external HDD does not support files more than size of 2 GB and the backup (which is only 1 file) is more than that.
    Is it possible to get the backup of Drives in multiple files of configurable maximum size of each file?

    Even if it possible through some third party software, then also please recommend something.
