Assign button for activities is inactive while offline mode RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

while I'm offline it's not possible to assign or change the owner of an activity. Is this the normal behavior? I've even tried it as an administrator and it didn't work either so I don't think it's a security problem.

I've also found some Microsoft help information where they wrote assigning should work for activities during offline mode. I've tested it in a customer and in our own environment but it didn't work.

Is this a bug or am I doing something wrong?

    Thanks

    Thomas

  • That would imply you could assign a record while offline alright.

I would almost think that based on no record being able to be assigned while offline probably isn't a bug - the documentation may just be incorrect or out of date.

  • I believe this is by design. Assigning any record while offline is not available. Things like adding records to a Marketing List, Running Workflows and Starting Dialogs also are not useable while offline.

  • Hi Jason,

I thought this too but then I've found this link:

    Not available offline

    • Assigning records (except activities and cases)

In my understanding this means that it should be possible for activities.
