I cannot open any.exe file in my laptop and not even cmd.

    Question

  • I cannot open any .exe file on my laptop running windows 8.1 pro. When i click on it it asks how do i want to run it. I cant open command prompt, task manager and even registry editor. In the file explorer, when i navigate to any exe file it shows "%1"%* in the file type column. I think it is a problem with the registry. Please help me.
