I know this is an old post but we also ran into this issue (CRM 2011, attempt to login via Internet Explorer and you get a white screen)
We are using IFD.
In our particular case, CRM was still accessible via Outlook.
After checking a few things out, it turned out to not be so much a CRM issue but rather an ADFS one, once the ADFS services were restarted, CRM was accessible again.
Thought I would post this information if anyone comes across this post in the future.
