Firewall and Anti Virus RRS feed

  • Question

  • Gentlemen /Ladies,

I am sorry to bother you with such trivia, but I was wondering if you can tell me why every time I turn on my laptop I get a message saying that the anti virus & firewall is turned off & I could be at risk, but then when I check it, it is always still turned on just fine?

Can you possibly just please tell me if this is something to worry about or if it's nothing? I am so sorry to ask you such a dumb question but I can't work out why it is telling me this.

  • If OneCare is in green status and the Windows Security Center throws the warning when your boot the PC, it is a timing issue and can be safely ignored.

However, if the Windows Security Center continues to report that you have no protection, but OneCare is green and good, see this post to repair the WMI database for Security Center:
