Re-install vista on a new motherboard? RRS feed

  • Question

  • I'm not sure if this is the right thread, but i need a new mother board for a new video card (pci express), I have windows vista home premium installed on this computer, the copy I bought is OEM, i think. I plan on using this hard drive, but i have to do a fresh install. I'm not going to use the other computer any more. my question is will i be able to install vista again? Or can i de-activate vista from this machine? i thought i'd ask before running into problems.

  • Once you install Windows Vista again:

You can reset your Windows Vista activation by performing the following:

    1. Click on the Start button and in the Start Search box type in:  slui.exe 4

    2. Press the Enter key on your keyboard.

    3. Select your Country.

    4. Follow the instructions for phone activation.

    5.  Once completed, restart your computer.
