Changed Number of Cores on Headnode

    Question

  • We have installed a HPC 2008 Cluster with Hyperthreating activated on the head node. Because the head node should also work as compute node and HT is slows down the application which is used we have deactivated HT on all nodes. But the the head node still believes he has 16 cores insted of the 8 which are available (node listcore shows Processor 0-15). How can i tell the head node that the number of cores has changed?

    Best Regards,

    Heinrich

  • Hi there

Please try taking the node offline / then bring it back online (using the HPC Cluster Manager). This action often clears up inconsistencies like this.

  • It often does not work. I solve similar problems by reinstalling HPC Pack. Brutal way but it works fine.
