    Dear OCS Experts

I am looking for the following information on Voice, Web and Video Conferencing features supported in OCS Server 2007 . I will really appreciate your help with any hints:

    Voice Conferencing:

1.Standards-based IP voice conferencing(H.323,SIP or something else)?

2.What kind of devices are supported on IP and cell telephony?

3.Is there any Roll call/ Announced-entry when user joins into meetings?

    4. Can the voice be recorded and played back?

    Web/Video conferencing:

4.What kind of True Color Support on Web Conferencing?

6.Is Multi-point Video Conferencing Support for H.323 and SIP supported?

    7. Type of IP and ISDN Endpoints support?

    8. Is Voice Integration among Phone and Video Participants allowed on both PSTN and IP?

Thanks and looking forward for expert advice.

    1 Yes, standard is SIP

2 Microsoft UC clients are supported and IP or Cell phones by inviting them from the conference (no join from remote without dial out to phone)

    3 No announcements

4 As far as I know there is no way to record audio and video

  • Hello Deli-Pro Exchange

Thanks for your prompt reply and answering my questions.Just to add up on your answers can you please confirm the following from my previous questions:

    Voice Conferencing:

1.Does it support anything other than standard SIP? Is it interoperable with other vendors?

2.MS Client means only MOC right? Other cell phones and IP phones cannot dial in but system has to invite them?

New( What kind of multi language support in OCS server 2007?)

New( Does it also support Muting feature?)

    Web/Video Conferencing:

5.Can you point me to some link where MS talks about Color support or 24 bit max?

    7. That means MOC only right?

New(What kind of Remote control is supported in Web Conferencing?)

New(What kind of cross-platform support in Web Conferencing is that Windows only?)

My company is evaluating different products so all your help is highly valuable. On the top if you can point me towards any user guide or technical doc link for OCS 2007 on Micrsoft's website will be highly appreciated.

    Take care...

    Raj

    1. Only Sip is used in OCS and it can be integrated with other vendors but they have to take care of the integration, like supporting the Microsoft Codecs.  We have done successfull testing with Tandberg Video Screens that login to OCS like any other OCS client and can pickup video calls automatically

    We tested with this system

    http://www.tandberg.com/products/video_systems/tandberg_1700_mxp.jsp

    2. Muting is supported in all conferences

MS client is tne MOC Client or other vendors that support the OCS as a server to login to (like tandberg)

Not sure what you mean with language support, clients support multiple languages on the interface

    5. http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb936616.aspx

  • Gray scale (16 shades)
  • Gray scale (256 shades)
  • 256 colors
  • High color (16 bit)
  • True color (24 bit)

    7. Live Meeting Client but you can still invite users for audio only.

LM Client is only supported on Windows platform

Remote control is possible : Promote to presenter and give control in application sharing
