Cannot install 1TB 6gbs drive RRS feed

  • Question

  • The install gets past the formatting and copying the installation files, then when it goes to reboot I get a blue screen.

I am going to try a couple things but also thought I'd ask here as well.

    1. Set jumper on drive to 3gbs (WD1002FAEX 7200rpm, 64mb cache, 6gbs)
    2. make sure BIOS is set to ACHI or SATA

Not sure what else to try, since I have read WHS should support up to 2tb drives.  Maybe restart installation from scratch.

  • Found that since I was installing service pack 1 it does not support ACHI so I changed it to IDE and everything is now good.
