Updating Stock Quotes RRS feed

  • Question

  • Is there any information on updating stock quotes in Money Plus Deluxe? Since the sunset conversion, I've only been able to do manual updates. Please advise! Thanks.

  • There are three options that I know of:

    https://gaiersoftware.com/Money

which is not free, but is very convenient, and these two free programs:

    https://sites.google.com/site/pocketsense/home/msmoneyfixp1

    https://code.google.com/p/hle-ofx-quotes/

    Take your pick.

  • Hello,

I tried the first option : it is not expensive (i.e. 9.99 USD) and works fine. Please keep in mind that it requires a version of Microsoft Money equal or greater than 2005.

  • I have recently downloaded the https://gaiersoftware.com/Money as suggested by Bill Becker. It works well but I still need to update bonds and some funds manually. The cost a $10 one time fee - good value.

  • What is an example symbol for a bond and an example symbol from a fund that you would like to download quotes for?

Note that for some fund companies and some brokers, you can download OFX files via PocketSense that include closing prices for your investment holdings. This is in addition to transactions.

http://microsoftmoneyoffline.wordpress.com/ has settings for  American Express, Bank of America, Capital One, Chase Bank (fee?), Citi Business Card OFX, Citi Card, CitiBusiness Card, Discover Card, Fidelity Net Benefits, Fidelity Investments, ING Direct Bank, Janus, OptionsXpress, PNC Bank, Schwab, Scottrade, Sears Card, TD Ameritrade, USAA, VALIC, Vanguard, Wells Fargo Advisors and probably more.

  • Being Canadian most investments are on the TSX. Some are NY in US$ but they update fine. Examples of things I must update manually are:

Mutual Funds Include: CIG890; CCM551; MFC1794; TML732. (I have REIT that updates with the Gaier product REI.UN)

Stock Includes: PFF; XLF; BKLN; (These are ETFs. I have others that update fine but not these )

    Also LIQ.DB.A

My broker is an investment branch of a Canadian bank.
