Vista requires validation after sys files renamed and re-renamed. Help pls! RRS feed

  • Question

  • While virus scanning 3 files in \system32 were renamed: 7B296FB0-376B-497e-B012-9C450E1B7327-2P-0.C7483456-A289-439d-8115-601632D005A0 and 7B296FB0-376B-497e-B012-9C450E1B7327-2P-1.C7483456-A289-439d-8115-601632D005A0 to maybevir-7B... (the 3-rd was \system32\drivers\uzm1odux.sys with today's time stamp(!) that was interpreted as possible virus.

When reload Vista asked for validation and discovered that itself is non-licensed!! (really it is SONY VAIO VGC-LM1ER with preinstalled Vista Home).
After renaming twice (no effect) and then rewriting source files (length=3584, not 640 bytes that NEW generated files have that appear in \system32) after reload and EVEN after power switching off - no effect again, validation on the MS site is required.

I'd like to re-activate the system, but the START-button is unavailable (there is no on the screen) and I cannot do actions that described on the MS validation site. All the actions on renaming described above were done in save mode using Total Commander.

    1) is it possible to make Vista work without re-activating (using rewriting some files)?
    2) If not, how to activate the system once more, is it possible in save mode?
    3) why MS developments haven't thought about such simple problem as renaming that is the reason ot total system inoperability?

thanks in advance!! Pls email here or pan_spb@yahoo.com

  • Vista asked the activation code when "Load the last successful config" command was run while restart, so 2 first questions are over.
But the 3-rd is still active :)
