Server Connections RRS feed

  • Question

  • What are the different protocol options for sync services to connect to a remote sql server database?  We want to make sure the server is secure, and we need to consider users who are behind a firewall and/or can't connect out via tcp because of security limitations on their network or computer.

What are the options?  Can it use https?

  • the transport layer totoaly owned by the sync service application developers. ie. the configurations, security setting, protocals to be used in the Ntier sync service applicaion are all controled by the app developers based on the business needs. so yes, you can use https.
