Is it possible to map drive from my NAS? Can I have WHS make copies of the local pc backup to the NAS?

No, Windows Home Server can only use a local drive, not a NAS, in the storage pool.
I'm not on the WHS team, I just post a lot. :)

Does that mean that it is impossible to backup my WHS to a NAS?

There's nothing in the product to let you do so. You can create a solution, using something like robocopy or synctoy, if you like, but Microsoft hasn't provided one for you.
