With the departure Certification Exam 70-511, there will be no certification specializing in windows forms or wpf?

  • Hi,

Some of the developer exams were originally scehduled for retirement but Microsoft Learning has updated this information. These exams will NOT expire mid-summer 2013. Please see this link for the definitive posting from Microsoft Learning: http://borntolearn.mslearn.net/btl/b/weblog/archive/2013/02/08/update-on-visual-studio-2010-exam-retirement-dates.aspx#fbid=ODhiK1d1gFy

Bruno's suggestions about the C# track for Windows Store apps is a good one. Just remember that it does not cover "classic" desktop applications using WPF. You can still take the 70-511 exam for this.

  • Hi Bruno,

Although you can still take an exam but certification is going to be retired after some duration (i think in the middle of the year).

You 'll have to do Microsoft Certified Solutions Deloper (MCSD) using C#.

    It include 70-483,70-484,70-485 exams.

These are specific to XAML and 'll cover the updated requirements..

    Further details could be found

here (70-511) and here (MCSD using C#)
